The karateka Àlex Asnà has managed to make one of his childhood dreams come true: becoming champion of Spain master -75 kg, in a final held in San Fernando, Cisdiz. The emotion was twofold: not only did he achieve a goal that he had been pursuing for years, but he did it with his whole family present, accompanying him from the stands.

“It was a spine that had been nailed since childhood,” Asnà admits, remembering that in the past he had only been able to reach a third position in the university championship. This time, however, the gold has been his.

One of the keys to his success, he explains, has been to work on physical and mental development in a balanced way. “It is not just training, it is managing rest, food, among others.”.

Alex Asnà: “It was a thorn that had been nailed since childhood”

One of the most special moments of the tournament was to live the final with Marc Lort, friend and partner of the Catalan national team: “We shared trips, many anecdotes and championships and we had never reached a national final together, it was very emotional and an experience that unites us even more”.

The support of his family, especially his brother David, has been fundamental. Since childhood they have shared the path within the karate, and are currently together at the Club Karate Asnà, where Alex trains both children and adults. “My brother is not only my coach, he is my emotional pillar and the person who accompanies me at every step,” he confesses.

With the national title, Àlex Asnà’s next goal is clear: to win the national league, where he has already achieved a third position in one of the phases. "The goal is the national league, but above all, to continue enjoying the path," concludes Asnà.e balanced form. “It is not just training, it is managing rest, food, among others.”.
